This is a list of the most memorable Bangkok restaurants, cafes and bars around the city we found during our time in Bangkok. Including the best rooftop bar, where to go for street food and meals you'll love that aren't just Thai food!
Our most memorable meals at Bangkok restaurants:
1. Sushiro (Centralworld)
If you like sushi, this Bangkok restaurant will easily become one of your favourite places on earth. Sushiro is Japan's largest chain of sushi belt restaurants and has locations across Asia. Come here for the quality sushi at VERY good prices and enjoy the whole experience that comes with eating here. Order from your table's iPad or take things right off the belt, enjoy unlimited green tea with a tap at your table.
Tip - there is always a line, so be prepared to wait. When you arrive, take a number from the hostess and wait for it to be called. The wait is worth it!
Location - inside CentralWorld shopping center. 4, 5 Ratchadamri Rd, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330 | Link to location on google here.
2.Baryard (Kimpton Maa-Lai Hotel)
It's not often that rooftop bars have food that's worth your dollar. But the availability of quality food, panoramic views and great cocktails is what makes Baryard special. They serve a mexican inspired menu that pairs with tropical flavoured cocktails prepared fresh by the bar staff. All this to be enjoyed whilst listening to laid-back DJ beats and watching the sun set over Bangkok.
Tip - if you want a good table, make a reservation in advance, especially on weekends!
Location - inside the Kimpton Maa-Lai Hotel. 78 Soi Ton Son, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330 | Link to location on google here.
3. The Dining Hall at IconSiam
One of the best shopping malls in the city, IconSiam is worth a visit whether you're looking for a Bangkok restaurant or not. Both shops and places to eat here are plentiful, however the food hall is the star for me. Located on the ground floor, there are MANY street food stalls here all serving various Thai goodies that you can mix & match. You can try and sample many different foods (all costing up to $5-$7) and enjoy them in the cafeteria style seating that's decorated to the max including a river with gondolas and wood bridges.
Tip - come here for lunch time which is when you can find the most vendors
Location - IconSiam shopping mall. 299 Charoen Nakhon Rd, Khlong Ton Sai, Khlong San, Bangkok 10600 | Link to location on google here.
4. Madame Somtum (Ploen Chit neighborhood)
Simple, no frills & local Bangkok restaurant for Thai BBQ meats. They have nice tables inside, so its more comfortable than street food but authentic, delicious and great value. We ate here almost every night since our apartment was around the corner!
Tip - try their BBQ pork, sticky rice and papaya salad (all ordered separately)
Location - 888/19 Phloen Chit Rd, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330 | Link to location on google here.
5. Brioche From Heaven (Silom neighborhood)
When you're craving a taste of European pastry goodness, this bakery is just perfect! They serve the largest, fluffiest buns you'll see. Located on a quiet street with aesthetic Parisian outdoor seating, its the perfect spot to start your morning or pop in for an afternoon pick me up.
Tip - get the classic "Brioche from Heaven" bun & an iced coffee
Location - 156 Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Rd, Khwaeng Silom, Khet Bang Rak, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10500, Thailand | Link to location on google here.
6. Night Market Street Food (Chinatown neighborhood)
Bangkok's Chinatown has one of the largest night markets in the city, so it's the perfect place to go to for dinner. There a plethora of Bangkok restaurants to try here, as well as a huge variety of street food. From peppery soups to phad thai noodles you'll find it here!
Tip - find the ladies serving fresh buns filled with sweet fillings along the main st. You'll be able to spot them from the large line & the bun with condensed milk is so comforting!
Location - 408 ถ. เยาวราช Chakkrawat, Chakkaphat, Bangkok 10100 | This cafe is right near the night market area
7. After You (multiple locations)
A popular Bangkok desert restaurant that merges classic Japanese deserts with Thai flavours, this is a truly unique meal that you must try when in Thailand.
Tip - the BEST thing on the menu is the mango sticky rice flavoured kakigori desert. Think shaved iced with a sweet coconut rice pudding filling with fresh mangoes. YUUUUUUM
Location - multiple locations
8. Drop By Dough (EmQuartier
A cozy coffee shop serving high quality doughnuts. They cafe is tucked in a quiet part of the EmQuartier mall making it a perfect coffee stop mid-day.

9. Octave Rooftop (Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit)
Nice but still reasonably priced bar, which also has multiple levels and comfy lounge like seating. Their top floor is truly high in the sky (I spent 10 minutes up there before asking to be seated one floor down) and has great views!
